Terms
I’ll always do my best to fulfil your needs and meet your expectations, but it’s important to have things written down so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and when, and what will happen if something goes wrong. In this contract, you won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I’ve no desire to trick you into signing something that you might later regret. What I do want is what’s best for both parties, now and in the future.
So in short:
You are working with me (Gemma Britton) as a freelance digital and print designer to:
Work on your brand until the agreed work is completed.
What do both parties agree to?
You: You have the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself, your company or your organisation. You’ll provide me with the assets and information I need to complete the project(s).
Me: I have the experience and ability to do everything we’ve agreed with you and I’ll do it all in a professional and timely manner. I’ll endeavour to meet every deadline that’s set.
Design
There will be plenty of opportunities to review the work and provide feedback. More than two rounds of revisions or feedback will incur additional design costs. Which will be charged at my hourly rate (£75)
You’ll own any designs created plus any visual elements that I create for them. You’ll have access to all source files and finished files but I will also keep a final copy. You own all intellectual property rights of text, images and data you provide, unless someone else owns them.
Displaying my work
Once projects are completed I would love to use the designs on my website, so I reserve the right to display all aspects of creative work, including sketches, work-in-progress designs and the completed project. I will credit all work that isn’t mine.
Payment schedule
I’ll issue invoices via email. The first invoice of 25% needs to be paid before any work begins. The final invoice will be sent after the agreed work has been completed. My payment terms are 14 days from the date of invoice by BACS. The appropriate bank account details are printed on my electronic invoice.
Confidentiality
I will always maintain the confidentiality of any information you give me regarding products, projects, business or financial information relating to your brand or business. When the project is completed any information I have will never be disclosed.
Cancellation of agreement
If you or I (Gemma Britton) wish to end the agreement before completion, work to date must be paid for and an invoice will be generated based on work completed.
We both agree that we’ll adhere to all relevant laws and regulations in relation to our activities under this contract and not cause the other to breach any relevant laws or regulations.
